《野良犬》劇情簡介
炎熱夏天，身心疲憊的青年刑警村上（三船敏郎 飾）結束了射擊練習後，登上擁擠難聞的公車回家，途中突然發現配槍被人盜走。他奮力追趕，卻最終跟丟了目標。村上垂頭喪氣找到佐藤課長（誌村喬 飾），請求解除他的職務，善良的課長則指點他拜托扒手課的資深刑警市川（河村黎吉 飾）尋求幫助。經市川提醒，村上想起公車上身邊站著的一個女人，正是女慣犯阿銀（岸輝子 飾）。耐不住村上的死纏爛打，阿銀透露了手槍販子的信息。在此之後，村上深入這座城市最黑暗的角落，尋找關於手槍的蛛絲馬跡。與此同時，有人用他的手槍犯案，形勢日漸緊迫。
二戰後日本都市的芸芸眾生相，通過村上野狗一般銳利的雙目交替呈現……
