《貴在真誠》劇情簡介
鄉紳沃辛（Michael Redgrave 飾）來到倫敦城內拜訪阿爾及（Michael Denison 飾），而實際目的是後者的表妹格溫多蘭，為了便於探望格溫多蘭，沃辛虛構了一位倫敦的不肖昆仲歐內斯特。阿爾及對沃辛在鄉下監護的姑娘西西莉情有獨鍾，於是出麵幫助沃辛向格溫多蘭求婚，盡管歐內斯特（真誠）這個假名對姑娘有莫名的吸引力，但沃辛的棄兒出身讓未來嶽母一口回絕。阿爾及在沃辛之前趕到他鄉下的住處，裝作歐內斯特如願結識了西西莉，未幾沃辛與格溫多蘭母女先後抵達，虛擬人物“歐內斯特先生”的騙局終被揭穿，兩位男士一時手足無措，但突然浮出水麵的一段陳年往事，讓兩對戀人的前途峰回路轉。
本片根據王爾德同名作品改編。

The epitome of the globe in the film is a large two-story house where three families of different nationalities live together like three countries on Earth.
