第二季將探索原著以外的故事情節，Aziraphale（麥克·辛 Michael Sheen 飾），一位愛挑剔的天使兼珍本書商，與隨性惡魔Crowley（大衛·田納特 David Tennant 飾）之間難以言喻的友誼。
隨著末世被成功阻撓，這對搭檔在倫敦蘇豪區的凡人中重新過上了輕鬆的生活。這樣的生活一直持續到大天使Gabriel意外出現在Aziraphale的書店門口，他不記得自己是誰，也不記得是怎麽來的。雖然Crowley對大天使為什麽來書店持懷疑態度，但Aziraphale熱衷於解開加Gabriel現狀背後的謎團。然而，把一位大天使隱藏在天堂和地獄之外的行為，很快就以意想不到的方式擾亂了他們的生活。為了解開這個謎團，並在此過程中挫敗天堂和地獄，兩人需要的不僅僅是奇跡，還需要再次依賴彼此。
